**** got caught.. some help please?

Hey guys.... basically i was wondering if anyone knew what happenes when the old bill send you a letter through saying that you have been caugh speeding...and they wanna no who was driving... ive heard a few stories that if u get a letter like that its gunna go to court n i cud get done for speeding dangerous driving an driving without due care and attention cud have my license taken off me and a hefty fine...... bearing in mind i was doing 91 in a 70 ...and im still only alowed to get 6 points as ive been driving under 2 years...

also i admit i was speeding...but i really dont think i was going that fast... can i still ask to see if the gun was calibrated that morning..?

any thorts on the matter greatly recieved...

No it won't go to court, they just want to know who was driving hun. Anything between 79mph and 96mph is a simple fixed penalty notice.

Don't worry too much, you'll be copping some points and a fine, but you won't get banned. Taken from the current guidelines from the Association of Chief Police officers (ACPO), 91mph in a 70mph zone:

Between 16-25mph over the posted limit: FINE £75-£130, PENALTY POINTS 4

Good luck, hope it works out in your favour. But like EY said, you shouldnt get banned.

It is standard procedure they send that letter thru to request the required driver details to ensure the appropiate person is penalised for speeding.

As EY says you are like to get the standard fixed penalty fine and points, and no further action, unless you appeal it, which will then lead to court, but personally i wouldnt bother as very rarely does the offender win.
